Architectural Philosophy

The future of Architecture ought to encompass a vision of preservation and innovation which is envisioned in parallel to the optimum sustainability of humanity and our environment. In our age of contemporary architecture our need are best served with by reducing construction wastage and a heavy dependence on non-renewable energy to achieve a functional design requirement. Being unable to adjust our architectural design practices will inevitably leave humanity with a delayed course of action to live in natural equilibrium

As a representation and expression of humanity, architecture should reflect our values. Our values ought to support the longevity of humanity and must be based on a general respect for nature.  The future of architecture is one which not only satisfies a human necessity but also an ecological necessity.

THE FORUM-TRUE BLUE COMMERCIAL PLAZA

Project Description: 

The Forum is designed to be a 13,000 Sq. Ft. commercial building with rentable units in a “C” formed layout, enclosing a partially covered plaza with dining and seating. This building comprises of a public car park, separate administrative parking and a ring road to accommodate back of house functions. The superstructure is to be of reinforced concrete and roofing is to be of steel trusses, metal purlins and insulated corrugated metal roof sheeting. The major challenges of this project would be the degree of excavation as of a matter of practicality this building would have to sit level slightly elevated above the public road on what is currently a sloping site.

Princeton Passive House

Project Description:

Dynamic Latitude was engaged to work along with Doug R. Schotland Architects of Pennington, New Jersey to formally design this first contemporary home design for their firm. Our studios role in this project was to undertake lifelike 3D renderings and interior styling. This large home yet modest for Princeton is 5,000 Sq. Ft. over two level and is to be situated on 2 acres of land with large trees in excess of 100 feet. This project although not being built was a success on our end as the visualization aided in the marketing and real estate for this dwelling and aid an accomplished traditional American architect to realize his first contemporary home design. This home is intended to have passive sustainable features with regards to the glazing to reduce energy consumption and carbon footprint.

Residence @ Egmont Lot#302

Project Description:

This dwelling marks the third home design done for this client in Grenada. Working along with the client’s design impetuous this 2,000 Sq. Ft. house was designed to be cost effect yet allow for proper air flow and to still capture the view without excessive glazing. The home was also designed in the most simplistic manner  for the easy of drawing interpretation and construction.  Most impressively having learnt on previous homes the construction process, the owner took on the role of builder for this home and was able to build at an astonishingly low cost with good quality finishes.

THY KINGDOM COME DELIVERANCE SANCTUARY

Project Location: Morne Jaloux, St. George's, Grenada​

Project Scale: 12,000 Sq. Ft. Building

Project Status: Under Constrction

Project Description: 

This 6,000 Sq. Ft. Church building over two levels on a 10,000 Sq. Ft lot of land, made use of a maximum lot coverage of 60 percent. The location of lot is chosen as a central point to multiple communities strategically to facilitate a larger congregation. This church can accommodate 500-700 people and has auxiliary functions, such as separate spaces for children, services, offices etc. Dynamic latitude was contacted to first seek pre-approval and subsequently full building approval and is currently under construction.

Ying Yang Residence

Project Description:

This two bedroom home perched on top of a hill with steep access road overlooks Worburn Bay. It was critical to maintain panoramic views and the circular shaped living space facilitated this requirement. This home not only contains curves from a functional perspective but indeed aims to satisfy an artistic requirement of the owner, who is himself is an Art Director. Therefore a great deal of the design impetus stems from the owner’s artistic premise and articulated by Dynamic Latitude. This home is truly a merge of Art Deco and contemporary architecture.

Morne Rouge Loft

Project Description: 

This project constitutes an elevated single bedroom dwelling with open loft, overlooking Spice Isle Mall and Grand Anse beach. The challenges with this project was to fit this building within a narrow driveway path behind an existing student rental building. The primary challenge was to secure approval for a separate dwelling without land subdivision and in consideration of the lot coverage. Aside from the regulatory challenges, this project was fairly straight forward in terms of design and planning and was able to take advantage of the view and maintain vehicular access within the building compound.

This extension is to accommodate a basement separate dwelling for a large existing dwelling in Moliere. The challenge with this planning was to achieve the client’s contemporary taste within and existing typical traditional/modern vernacular of the existing residence. Additionally to achieve this additional floor within the existing irregular column grid and within existing site and building levels.

Egmont Bay Villa

Project Description:

This residence is located in Petite Calivigny on the outskirt of the Egmont Development. Dynamic latitude was involved in this project throughout the land acquisition and design and planning. Approvals were received for the construction to two small villas on a 10,000 Sq. Ft. Subdivided lot # C2 seen in photo below. Due to several hiccups during the construction, some design alterations were made to accommodate budget and owners preferences. Ultimately this property would contain a single dwelling with outdoor space and amenities.

VILLA | EUNICA @ Forte Jeudy Lot10

Project Description:

This 4,000 Sq. Ft. residence with large pool is to be situated on the very end of the Forte Jeudy coastal bluff with panoramic ocean view. Dynamic Latitude has been involved in this project from land acquisition and will be involved in the construction supervision of this project. This project in terms of design vernacular is one of the crowning projects of our studio and defines our architectural perspective.

This 3 bedroom en-suite residence counts with spacious rooms, garage, large driveway, loft floor and several covered and uncovered external courtyards, living area and services areas. For the owners, the view is more important than the dwelling itself and all fenestration to the west is open to the view with laminated glass and overhangs shading from heat gain. This residence was conceived in 3 separate blocks at owners request being master, living and guest blocks. It is a truly minimalistic work of art with the integration of concrete, wood and local stonework.

TRUE BLUE COMBAT CENTER

This Combat Center was intended to be an exclusive tropical get away for professional martial artist. This would have not only included a state of the art training center but additionally 26 luxury rooms to house two teams at a given moment. The site counts with a sea view, beach access and is adjacent to the airport runway. Unfortunately this project could not be proceeded with or rectified due to potential breach of airport regulations.

Dynamic Latitude was engaged to provide consultancy to accommodate technically functional spaces within an existing plant structure. The bottling company intends to build a new plant to be able to accommodate the plant functions and demands. In the meantime the best economic approach to facilitating a production booth, receiving area and  change room within an existing building with container extensions had to be formulated by our studio. Our engagement was to  provide a schematic plan and costing for this decision making..
